It’s sniffle season, so here’s what you need to know when it comes to flu shots and getting the right care when and where you need it – even online.

Flu Shots

Getting a flu vaccine is the best way to prevent the flu and its complications. MetroHealth offers a variety of options to keep you healthy this flu season.

  1. You can get your flu shot and other immunizations at any of our convenient MetroHealth Pharmacy locations. Adults and children 7 and older can walk in (no appointment needed) and do not need to be MetroHealth patients to get immunized.
  2. If you prefer, schedule an appointment on MyChart with your provider or your child’s provider. Children 6 months to 7 years require an appointment with their pediatrician to receive immunizations including the flu shot.
Did you know?

  • Getting your flu shot can help cut flu hospitalizations and flu-related doctor visits by more than 50% and is the most effective way to prevent illness.
  • Flu vaccines are updated every year.
  • Flu shots are recommended for everyone 6 months of age and older.
  • The best time to get the flu shot is in the fall, but it’s still helpful to get it into January or later.
