It’s sniffle season, so here’s what you need to know when it comes to flu shots and getting the right care when and where you need it – even online.
Flu Shots
Getting a flu vaccine is the best way to prevent the flu and its complications. MetroHealth offers a variety of options to keep you healthy this flu season.
- You can get your flu shot and other immunizations at any of our convenient MetroHealth Pharmacy locations. Adults and children 7 and older can walk in (no appointment needed) and do not need to be MetroHealth patients to get immunized.
- If you prefer, schedule an appointment on MyChart with your provider or your child’s provider. Children 6 months to 7 years require an appointment with their pediatrician to receive immunizations including the flu shot.
- Getting your flu shot can help cut flu hospitalizations and flu-related doctor visits by more than 50% and is the most effective way to prevent illness.
- Flu vaccines are updated every year.
- Flu shots are recommended for everyone 6 months of age and older.
- The best time to get the flu shot is in the fall, but it’s still helpful to get it into January or later.
