If you’re pregnant, prenatal vitamins shouldn’t be an afterthought. Our pharmacy makes it easier than ever to ensure you and your baby get the nutrients you need.

While they may seem like a small piece of your prenatal care, prenatal vitamins are an important part of your pregnancy journey.

Even with a healthy diet, you need more of certain vitamins if you are pregnant. Prenatal vitamins offer more:
  • Folic Acid – helps reduce risk neural tube defects and supports healthy brain and spinal cord development
  • Iron – supports the development of the placenta and fetus
  • Calcium and Vitamin – D helps promote the development of the baby’s teeth and bones
Our Prenatal Vitamin Options

We offer over the counter and prescription-strength prenatal vitamins at our pharmacy. Our pharmacists can discuss what you may need depending on family history or pregnancy symptoms, like nausea.

We offer tablets, chewables, gummies and liquid prenatal vitamins at our 11 pharmacy locations. Also, our prices on prenatal vitamins are generally low – a 30-day supply of generic prenatal vitamins can cost less than $2.

“We know how much our pregnant patients have going on so we try to make things as easy as possible when we can,” says Kellie Krueger, pharmacist at MetroHealth. “The pharmacy offers them easy ways to get the vitamins and supplies they need, and the pharmacist is always there to answer any questions in person, over the phone or through our online chat.”
How Do I Get my Prenatal Vitamins Through MetroHealth?

Most of the time, your provider will have already prescribed a prenatal vitamin and refer you to the pharmacy. If you request prenatal vitamins without talking to your provider, we can request a prescription from your provider and help you get vitamins your insurance will cover.

In addition to offering vitamins at our 11 pharmacies, we also offer no cost, same-day delivery seven days a week. Just verify your address and co-pay before requesting delivery. You can request your medication and refills through MyChart or by calling 216-957-6337 (MEDS).

If you have questions for our pharmacy team, take advantage of our online chat at metrohealth.org/pharmacy.

Taking Care of You and Your Baby

We provide a variety of prenatal care and resources to ensure you have a safe pregnancy. At our Birthing Center at The Glick Center, we have everything you need to make childbirth a positive and memorable experience: private patient rooms, spacious showers, natural light, comfortable furniture and pull-out beds for overnight guests.

We don’t stop at checkups and delivery. All pregnant individuals are welcome to sign up for our Pregnancy Care e-Newsletter, where you get information about your pregnancy journey and what to expect when delivering at MetroHealth – all tailored to your due date.

We also offer a robust series of childbirth education classes, breastfeeding support and classes for family members as well as our CenteringPregnancy group where you can talk with your provider and meet other people who are due near the same time.
