Sweetheart Chocolate Pudding (Easy and Kid-Friendly)

Avocados give this dessert extra fiber, potassium, and heart‑healthy fats. Don’t worry—you won’t taste the avocado at all. All you’ll notice is the rich, chocolate flavor!

Ingredients

  • 1 small, ripe avocado (about 1/3–1/2 cup mashed)
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons milk (any kind you like)*
  • 2 tablespoons agave syrup or another sweetener**
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
  • A small pinch of salt
  • Fresh raspberries (optional)

Directions

  1. Mash the avocado in a medium bowl. Add the cocoa powder and mix with a fork.
  2. Add the rest of the ingredients. Use an electric mixer on high for 2–3 minutes, until the mixture is smooth and a little fluffy.
  3. Spoon the mixture into two small bowls (about 4 ounces each). Put them in the fridge for 30 minutes so the mousse can chill and thicken.
  4. Add a few raspberries on top if you want extra color and flavor. Enjoy with someone you love!

Cook’s Notes

  • This recipe was tested with low‑fat milk. Any milk or plant‑based milk will work. If you use an unsweetened plant milk, you might need a little more sweetener.
  • Maple syrup works well too. Honey is thicker but should still mix fine. If you use regular sugar, add a bit more milk if the mixture feels too thick.
